by Bartolomeo Spinelli
The cuttings of Nebbiolo , Sangiovese and Aglianico and the bottles of wine from Biondi Santi ( Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2006 and 2015 ), Feudi di San Gregorio ( Piano di Montevergine 2012 and 2015 ) and Gaja ( Barolo Sperss 1988 and 2017 ) are going to conquer of the universe. The producers of these wines, adhering to the Wine in Space project, have given some of their bottles to the Italian Space Agency for the realization of a scientific experiment on the International Space Station orbiting the Earth . The delivery, on the occasion of the 15th International Wine Culture Forum organized by the Italian Sommelier Foundation, it took place in Rome following the idea launched by the founder of FIS Franco Maria Ricci. This is a way to explore the future prospects of the vine thanks to three vines representative of Italian wine excellence and three historic companies. The response of the three producers involved, Giampiero Bertolini , Antonio Capaldo and Angelo Gaja , was immediately enthusiastic: they are convinced of the value of this innovative initiative in the scenario of the international wine world.
